As an Army Officer, I led a diverse group of Americans – from all races, religions and backgrounds – working together towards the common goal of keeping America safe.

My campaign is centered around a commitment to justice, opportunity, and equality for all Americans, not just those at the top.

I believe in – and fought for – a nation where gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and all aspects of our identities are protected, respected and are never an obstacle to one’s opportunities, treatment, safety and inclusion.

Our country has made great strides in the right direction, but unfortunately, the current political climate has us backsliding from these ideals.

We must remain vigilant against any action that seeks to threaten civil rights and justice for all and advocate for continuing to push existing policies forward towards greater equality for everyone:

  • Work to deconstruct systems of mass incarceration
  • Empower the Department of Justice to investigate and supervise problematic police departments
  • Oppose the Republican effort to strip trial by jury and replace it with arbitration, which overwhelmingly favors civil rights violators
  • Insist on greater accountability for white-collar crime
