KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Democratic Congressional candidate Pat Ryan will march Saturday, June 16, from the Home of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Hyde Park to U.S. Rep. John Faso’s district office in Kingston to demand action to end gun violence.

Ryan, of Gardiner, will be joined by local elected officials, community leaders and high school students along the 30-mile route. According to a preliminary schedule, Ryan will start at 7:30 a.m. from the FDR Library and cross the Walkway Over the Hudson from Poughkeepsie to Highland at about 9:30 a.m. He will head down Main Street in New Paltz and over the Rosendale Trestle. A rally at Faso’s office is planned at 6:30 p.m.

Ryan wants to ban assault weapons; he has been designated a “gun sense candidate” by Moms Demand Action. Ryan is one of seven Democratic candidates challenging Faso, R-Kinderhook, in New York’s 19th Congressional District. The Democratic primary is June 26.
